The Worldwide Brotherhood of Teamsters union introduced Amazon employees would strike beginning on Thursday in 5 confirmed states forward of the Christmas vacation, citing the corporate’s absence from the bargaining negotiations as a motive.

“If your package is delayed during the holidays, you can blame Amazon’s insatiable greed. We gave Amazon a clear deadline to come to the table and do right by our members. They ignored it,” stated Teamsters Normal President Sean M. O’Brien, labeling the corporate’s executives as “greedy.”

Staff are set to strike at places in New York Metropolis, Atlanta, Southern California, San Francisco and Skokie, Sick.

The Teamsters say Amazon employees at different services are ready to affix them. Nevertheless, the web retailer firm created by billionaire Jeff Bezos has persistently denied wrongdoing amid complaints supported by the Nationwide Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

It says the Teamsters has repeatedly mislead the general public with its personal statements.

“For more than a year now, the Teamsters have continued to intentionally mislead the public – claiming that they represent ‘thousands of Amazon employees and drivers’. They don’t, and this is another attempt to push a false narrative,” Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel stated in an announcement.

The corporate didn’t instantly reply to The Hill’s requests for remark.

Amazon challenged the legality of the NLRB criticism which arose from employees in California who have been employed by a separate contractor.
