(NewsNation) — The Meals and Drug Administration (FDA) has introduced one other recall of frozen shrimp offered at Walmart, citing potential contamination with cesium-137, a radioactive isotope.
This marks the third shrimp recall this month tied to imports from Indonesia.
In line with the FDA, cesium could be current within the setting at low ranges. Nonetheless, repeated publicity via contaminated meals or water could result in an “elevated risk of cancer, resulting from damage to DNA within living cells of the body.”
The most recent recall entails 26,460 six-ounce packages of AquaStar Corp. cocktail shrimp, offered in Walmart shops between July 31 and August 16, 2025. They have been offered throughout Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.

The product was refrigerated, with a 12-day shelf life, and packaged in a transparent plastic tray with a purple and white label. Recalled gadgets have a UPC of 19434612191 and the next lot codes: 10662 5106, 10662 5107, 10662 5124, and 10662 5125.

To date, no sicknesses have been reported.
