(NEXSTAR) – A visitor on Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is in steady situation after a gap appeared to open up in one of many ship’s waterslides on Thursday.
Footage of the damaged waterslide has since been making the rounds on social media, displaying water cascading to the ship’s deck by a gap close to the highest of the slide.
The injured visitor, recognized by Royal Caribbean as an grownup, didn’t fall by the outlet, in keeping with a spokesperson for the cruise line.
“Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide. The guest is being treated for his injuries,” the spokesperson mentioned. “The water slide is closed for the remainder of the sailing pending an investigation.”

Royal Caribbean didn’t disclose the character of the visitor’s accidents.
Among the movies shared to social media appeared to point out the second that passengers realized the slide had damaged. Some may be heard screaming for the operators to “stop the slide!” whereas different yell for anybody within the queue to show again.
